Doubting Yourself and Not Imagining It

You can be second-guessing yourself and still be seeing things clearly. A reflection on workplace doubt, paying attention to what feels wrong, and rebuilding trust in your own perception.

Both can be true. Two overlapping circles labeled Doubting yourself and Not imagining it. Book 6: You’re Not Imagining It. MusingsOfaRecoveringExecutive.com.

Both can be true.

You can be second-guessing yourself and still be seeing things clearly.

When a workplace starts to feel off, the first question many of us ask is, "Is it me?" We replay conversations. We wonder if we're too sensitive. We talk ourselves out of what we know.

Doubt doesn't mean you're wrong. Sometimes it's simply what happens when an environment teaches you to stop trusting your own perception.

If something keeps feeling wrong, it deserves your attention, not your dismissal.

Why this book is for you:

If you've ever left a meeting asking yourself, "Is it me?", this book is for you. It's for anyone whose confidence has been worn down by a workplace that made them doubt what they were seeing, and who is ready to trust their own perception again.

Have you ever talked yourself out of something you later realized you'd seen clearly all along?
