Seven Signs Your Yes Is Costing More Than You Realize
Not every yes feels expensive when you say it. Seven ways to notice what your commitments spend in time, attention, energy, and choice.

7 signs your YES is costing more than you realize
Not every yes feels expensive when you say it.
Sometimes the bill arrives later.
1) You agree before checking your capacity.
Your reflex answers before your life gets a vote.
2) You say yes because you can.
Ability and availability are not the same thing.
3) You feel responsible for solving problems you didn’t create.
Being capable does not automatically make it yours.
4) You’re protecting someone else from disappointment by disappointing yourself.
That is still a cost.
5) Your calendar is full, but very little of it feels chosen.
A busy life and an intentional life are not the same thing.
6) You keep giving your best energy to things that matter least to you.
Time isn’t the only resource being spent.
7) You’ve forgotten that every yes is also a no.
➡️To rest.
➡️To presence.
➡️To something else you wanted.
❗ Sometimes, to yourself.
That became one of the biggest realizations behind Book 3 of Musings of a Recovering Executive:
Every Yes Is an Investment. Your Life Is Finite.
This isn’t about saying no to everything.
It’s about understanding that your time, energy, attention, talents, and emotional capacity are finite resources.
So maybe the question isn’t:
“Can I do this?”
Maybe it’s:
“Is this where I want to invest myself?”
